Reporting group

Data requests that cannot be satisfied by the standard reports available within FIS, and data requests made by people who are not MFish staff, should be made to the MFish help desk (see contacts).

From there, they will be forwarded to an appropriate person in the Client Services group.

The Client Services group is responsible for:

Managing MFish Websites
Managing MFish Library Services
Help Desk call logging
Data Analysis and Reporting

Following people are currently employed in the group:

Chantal Percy - Client Services Data Analyst
Denise Nicholson - Client Services Data Analyst
Dave McCulloch - Web Developer
Kristen Barker - Help Desk Co-ordinator

When making a request to the reporting group please think in advance about the following questions :

what time period are you interested in (Catch Effort data is available from 1989 onwards) ?
whether you want estimated catch data or landings data ?
what statistical areas or quota management areas are you interested in ?
what target species are you interested in ?
what fishing methods are you interested in ?
do you want data on zero catches (cases where a particular species was targeted but none of that species was caught) ?
do not forget that landings data is not available by statistical area, method or target species.
